You've got people in your company who are in critical roles. They do a good job. But, your company is changing and growing. So, you need them to step up their games. You sent them to retreats, had them read books and perhaps some other things.
But, your important leader isn't leading significantly better.
How can you get them to where you need them to be (and where they want to be)?
STEP 1: MEASURING LEADERSHIP
As the saying goes, you can't change what you don't know. My leadership coaching process starts by using leadership assessments providing an objective and clear picture of where your leader is today and what's necessary to get them to the next level.
The art and science of using leadership assessments is based on selecting the right assessments and knowing how to explain the results to business leaders in ways that are relatable and actionable.
Here's the deal. Most people offering leadership assessments don't know what they're doing. They don't know how to pick leadership assessments you can trust, they don't know how to do more than a cursory explanation of the results, and most of all, they don't know how to connect the dots between what the assessments say and turn that information into impactful leadership development coaching.
HOW MY LEADERSHIP ASSESSMENT EXPERTISE IS DIFFERENT:
* Leadership Assessment Selection:
I am expert selecting leadership assessments. It's a very specialized skill set - part of my expertise as a trained psychologist, I can figure out which assessments get the job done and which don't.
* Leadership Assessment Understanding and Use
I am expert both interpreting leadership assessment results AND explaining them to you in an understandable way. As I work with clients over time on various leadership development projects, they are also surprised how much they begin "getting" what the assessments mean. They see how leadership assessments greatly increase understanding why a leader does what they do and how they need to change. Many of my clients enjoy and value getting to this level - I can get you there, too.
* Connect the Dots Between Leadership Assessment Data and Developing Improved Leadership
As a businessperson, you already know that using leadership assessments are just a means to an end. The reason for conducting leadership assessments is to use that information to develop leadership expertise. As both a leadership assessment expert and master-level coach, I readily connect the dots between what we learn from the leadership assessments and how to use that information to improve leadership expertise.
As your leadership assessment expert, you'll always understand what the assessments do, mean and how that information creates a foundation for improving how people lead.
STEP 2: COACHING LEADERS
There is coaching, and well, there is coaching.
Most coaches out there can form rapport and make the coaching experience enjoyable. Many of you have had a coach like that. You enjoyed working with that coach and probably became smarter how to lead.
You likely read some books, maybe watched some online videos. Maybe even took a leadership assessment that seemed interesting when explained to you but at a party, couldn't explain to your friends what it actually meant.
And sometime after completing the coaching, you (or your boss) knew you really hadn't significantly increased your ability to lead, develop people and create results.
HOW MY LEADERSHIP COACHING IS DIFFERENT:
* I "Get" People:
The first step in coaching is understanding why and how the professional leads the way they do. As a psychologist working in businesses, I use my significant abilities to listen and understand so all involved have a clear picture of the professional's current leadership expertise. I use that same empathy throughout the leadership coaching process so I know when to support and when to push. Most importantly, I teach this skill to my "coachees," giving them the ability to coach and develop their own people more effectively.
* Pragmatic and Practical:
Although I'm a highly expert leadership coach with a Ph.D. in psychology, that shouldn't matter to you. What should matter is that I can take a lot of business and behavioral science expertise and use it - in plain language - to help you become a better leader. My leadership coaching style is respectful and supportive - you'll know I'm "in your corner." And, I'm always clear and to-the-point about what you need to do to become a better leader and how to get there.
(One of my clients said he originally hired me and continued hiring me because I can quickly and clearly break down a leadership development goal into the steps to get there).
* Systematic and Effective Method for Developing Leaders:
Using leadership assessment data (in addition to what you and your company tells me about you), I create a data-based structured Leadership Coaching Program. The Program clearly states the goals for each major aspect of your leadership development, including the tasks and resources to get there.
Overall, my leadership coaching process helps executives and managers become more impactful leaders. My goal for you is for your Leadership Coaching with me to be transformative. I take that seriously. If we work together, you will, too.
